

Pune, 27th July 2026: With Ganeshotsav beginning on September 14, Central Railway (CR) has announced 248 Ganpati Special Train services to cater to the heavy passenger rush expected during the festive season.
Every year, lakhs of people travel from Mumbai, Pune and nearby cities to their native places in the Konkan region to celebrate the festival, leading to a sharp increase in demand for train travel.
To meet the additional demand, Central Railway will operate 124 pairs (248 trips) of special trains connecting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), Diva and Pune with Sawantwadi Road, Ratnagiri, Khed, Chiplun and Madgaon between September 11 and 27.
The special services announced by Central Railway include:
01103: CSMT – Sawantwadi Road (Daily, September 11–26)
01129: LTT – Sawantwadi Road (September 15 & 22 – Tuesdays)
01151: CSMT – Sawantwadi Road (Daily, September 11–26)
01153: CSMT – Ratnagiri (Daily, September 11–26)
01155: Diva – Khed MEMU (Daily, September 11–27, except September 23)
01165: LTT – Madgaon (September 15 & 22 – Tuesdays)
01167: LTT – Ratnagiri (Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Mondays & Tuesdays, September 12–26)
01171: LTT – Sawantwadi Road (Daily, September 11–27)
01185: LTT – Madgaon (September 16 & 23 – Wednesdays)
01131: LTT – Sawantwadi Road (September 17, 20, 24 & 27)
01133: Diva – Chiplun MEMU (Daily, September 11–26)
01445: Pune – Ratnagiri (September 15 & 22 – Tuesdays)
01447: Pune – Ratnagiri (September 12, 19 & 26 – Saturdays)
The additional trains are expected to provide much-needed relief to passengers travelling during one of Maharashtra's busiest festive seasons. With extra services on key Konkan routes, Central Railway aims to ensure smoother travel for thousands of devotees heading home to celebrate Ganeshotsav. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys in advance and book tickets early to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
