Corporate sector allows staff to ‘work from home’

MUMBAI: Corporate sector on Tuesday agreed to allow their employees to work from home because of increasing number of coronavirus positive cases in the city. Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that the private companies responded to the government’s appeal and also assured that the corporate sector will help the government in the pandemic and provide medicines, masks, sanitisers and ventilators to the people and government hospitals.

Tope had a meeting with the representatives of the corporate sector at Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai. Executives from various pharmaceutical companies, banks and other corporate sectors were present for the meeting. “All the private companies have allowed their employees to work from home. These employees will attend their official meeting virtually from their home,” said Tope.

“Even the private companies are agreed to provide medical help through their corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds,” Tope informed.
