Film and TV shoots set to resume; check the new SOP for media production

Ever since the COVID-19 crisis and imposed lockdown in the nation, shootings of various television shows and films were asked to remain shut. Now, after three months the central government has allowed the shooting in some states. Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar on Sunday made a vital announcement and stated that the ministry has issued a detailed SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for recommencing work in the media production industry.

Prakash Javadekar, Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change; Information & Broadcasting on his Twitter said, “Today @MIB_India have released a detailed SOP for resuming work in the media production industry. The general principles behind the SOP will help create a safe working environment for cast and crew in the industry.”

The SOP guarantees satisfactory social distancing at shooting locations and other workplaces and holds measures including proper sanitation, crowd management and running for protective equipment.

SOP FOR MEDIA PRODUCTION

  • Minimum cast and crew for shooting.
  • Mandatory use of Aarogya Setu app.
  • Six feet social distancing.
  • No visitors or guests allowed.
  • Designated entry and exit points at shooting locations.
  • Provision for PPE, gloves and other protective gears.
  • Regular sanitation of sets and makeup rooms.
