Today, weather activity is expected to intensify across Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha, with a combination of thunderstorms and rain likely. These conditions are attributed to favorable pre-monsoon atmospheric patterns developing over the region.

Despite the rainfall forecast, Vidarbha continues to experience extreme heat. Akola and Wardha recorded the highest temperatures in the country at 45°C in the past 24 hours.

Nagpur and Amravati followed closely, with temperatures exceeding 44°C. Several other districts, including Chandrapur, Yavatmal, and Bhandara, recorded temperatures above 43°C.

Meteorological conditions indicate a cyclonic circulation persisting between Maharashtra and Karnataka, while strong westerly winds at high altitudes are influencing the current weather pattern.

Recent days have already seen sudden weather changes. On April 19, unseasonal rain and hail were reported in parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha following intense daytime heat.

Light showers continued in districts such as Sangli, Nanded, Hingoli, Washim, Buldhana, and Akola through April 20 morning, offering brief relief from soaring temperatures.
