Mumbai: Minister of State for Agriculture Sadabhau Khot announced his new political outfit Rayat Kranti Sanghatana on Thursday. This organisation will work for farmers, as well as farmers’ labour, unemployed youths and other sections
of society.

Khot has started preparing for the launch of his new outfit after Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana expelled him last month. Khot formed an organisation at Kolpaur with his core team.
Suresh Patil from Kolhapur was announced as president of the organisation while Shardul Jadhavar was announced as youth wing president.

“This organisation will work for all the weak sections of society. Since I represent farmers, they will be the main focus of our
party,” said Khot.

“After leaving Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghtana (SSS), I had decided to launch a party dedicated to fighting for farmers and take up their issues. I received a lot of support from activists across the State, who have encouraged me to form an outfit dedicated to farmers’ problems,” he said.

On Thursday, at Kolpaur, Khot ended the speculation about his future course of action. There were also speculations that Khot may join the BJP and contest against Shetti in the 2019 elections from Hathkanagale, Kolhapur.

“I have decided my future course of action. This organisation will for the RAYAT (citizens). We are going to form a co-operative cell, legal cell, IT cell and others, to resolve the problems of the people,” Khot said, adding that his organisation will ‘never expel or distrust its members’.

Khot was expelled from the Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana for allegedly indulging in anti-party activities and taking a stance against farmers in the State over the crop loan waiver.
