Cecelia Ahern, an Irish novelist once said, “Age is just a number, not a state of mind or a reason for any type of particular behaviour.” This proverb aptly suits this sexagenarian, who managed to climb the steep steps of Harihar Fort in Nashik.
The video shows Asha Ambade, a 68-year-old woman, climbing the steep steps of Harihar Fort in Nashik. In the undated video, the woman can be seen climbing the steps of the fort, as a man walks behind her. The people standing on top of the spot also cheer her on.
Since being shared, the footage has been circulated widely with netizens praising Asha Ambade for her determination and courage. Deputy Director of Maharashtra Information Centre, Dayanand Kamble wrote, "If there is a will there's a way. Look at this 70-year-old mountaineer, salute to this Mauli."
The video went viral in no time with Twitteratti lauding the woman for her grit and determination. "Sheer will power makes us do wonderful things," wrote one user. "She's proved what everyone says.. 'Age is just a number'," wrote another.
The Harihar Fort is located in Nashik district (some 40 kms far away from Nashik city) of the state and is famous for its narrow, rock-cut steps engraved at an almost 80-degree incline. The staircases are not for the fainthearted.
