Massive Clean-Up at Dehu and Bhandara Hill After Sant Tukaram Maharaj Beej Sohala

The collected waste comprised 2 tons of wet waste and 14 tons of dry waste. Additionally, the main roads and internal pathways from Gatha Mandir to the entrance arch were also cleaned.

Pune: A large-scale cleanliness drive was carried out at Shri Kshetra Dehu and Bhandara Hill on Monday as part of the Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Beej Sohala celebrations. The campaign, organized by Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari Pratishthan, Revdanda, saw 1,000 volunteers coming together to collect 16 tons of waste, contributing towards the mission of a clean and sacred Dehu.

Two-Hour Drive Yields Significant Results

The cleanliness campaign was conducted from 6 AM to 8 AM, during which volunteers thoroughly cleaned key locations, including the Shri Kshetra Dehu temple premises, Indrayani River ghat, and Bhandara Hill.

The initiative was led under the guidance of Dr. Appasaheb Dharmadhikari and Dr. Sachin Dharmadhikari. Members from Pimpri-Chinchwad and Maval participated in large numbers, making it a significant environmental effort.

Promoting Awareness and Cleanliness

The campaign aimed not only at cleaning the area but also at raising awareness about maintaining cleanliness in and around sacred sites. Volunteers removed plastic waste, disposable plates, and other debris, reinforcing the message of keeping Dehu clean and beautiful.
