
Pune: A gruesome murder rocked the Kanhe village of Maval taluka, where a 22-year-old man was hacked to death with a machete over suspicions of an illicit relationship.
The victim, identified as Vaibhav Umesh Satkar (22), was allegedly attacked by Ankush Jaywant Satkar (42), a resident of the same village.
According to police reports, both the victim and the accused were neighbors in Ambevadi, Kanhe. Ankush suspected that Vaibhav was involved in an illicit affair, which fueled his anger. In a fit of rage, he attacked Vaibhav with a machete, slashing his neck and killing him on the spot.
As soon as the Vadgaon Maval Police Station received information about the crime, a team led by Police Inspector Kumar Kadam, Assistant Police Inspector Shitalkumar Doijad, and Police Sub-Inspector Rutuja Mohite rushed to the location.
The police conducted a spot inspection (panchnama) and sent the body for post-mortem examination. Authorities are currently investigating further details of the case, and legal proceedings against the accused are underway.
