
Pune: A joint meeting was convened by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) with representatives from various industrial associations to discuss issues in Pune’s industrial areas and propose actionable solutions. The meeting was held at the MIDC office in Pune and chaired by Dr. Shivaji Patil, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of MIDC.
The session brought together representatives from industrial zones such as Pimpri, Chinchwad, Hinjewadi, Chakan-Talegaon, and Ranjangaon. Prominent participants included Sudhanwa Kopardekar, Sandeep Belsare, Govind Pansare, Dilip Batwal, Vineet More, Ajay Bhor, Ravi Chaudhary, Sunil Peshwani, Arvind Deshmukh, Rupesh Shah, Jayant Kad, Sushil Jore, and Santosh Budhe.
MIDC officials present at the meeting included Regional Officer Sachin Baravkar, Archana Pathare, Executive Engineer Sanjay Indule, and Deputy Engineers Patil and Kardile. Representatives outlined several key issues and demands for consideration, and constructive discussions were held on potential solutions.
Key Discussion Points:
Relocation of slums on MIDC land in Pimpri-Chinchwad to alternative locations, with freed spaces to be allocated to small-scale entrepreneurs.
Introduction of PMPML bus services in MIDC areas.
Establishment of a fire station in Chikhli and Kudalwadi areas.
Immediate measures to address traffic congestion in Chakan.
Improved road connectivity between Endurance Company and MIDC phases 2 and 5.
Allocation of additional land for a water purification center to control pollution in the Indrayani River.
Opening an ESI hospital in the Chakan area for workers.
During the meeting, attendees expressed gratitude to MIDC CEO P. Velarasu for his directives to organize this session. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shivaji Patil assured the entrepreneurs of government support in creating a conducive environment for businesses.
