Pune City Police is set to enhance its surveillance and emergency response capabilities with the deployment of five advanced Mobile Surveillance Vans (MSVs). These vehicles, equipped with cutting-edge technology, will assist in crime prevention, law enforcement, and disaster management.
Advanced Surveillance for a Safer City
The MSVs will serve as mobile command centers, featuring:
High-tech CCTV sensors for real-time monitoring
Long-range wireless cameras with 360-degree coverage
Live video streaming to a central command unit
Backup power support to ensure uninterrupted operation
Five drones to enhance aerial surveillance, with police personnel trained for drone operations
Integration with Central Command Center
The surveillance vans will be directly linked to a newly established command center at the Pune Police headquarters in Shivajinagar. This will enable real-time coordination and faster response during emergencies. Officers in the command center will have access to live video feeds from the MSVs, allowing them to make informed decisions quickly.
Launch Timeline and Investment
Each van costs ₹1.5 crore, and five units will be deployed by March or April this year. The initiative will modernize the Pune Police force, equipping it with world-class surveillance infrastructure.
"These high-tech Mobile Surveillance Vans will enhance Pune Police’s ability to respond to crime and emergency situations with greater efficiency. With advanced surveillance tools and drone integration, we aim to strengthen law enforcement capabilities in the city."
