Pune: With a substantial number of passengers traveling between Pune and Delhi, Union Minister and Pune MP Murlidhar Mohol has proposed the launch of a Pune-Delhi Vande Bharat Sleeper Train to enhance travel convenience. The proposal was presented during a meeting with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in Delhi.
Mohol emphasized the necessity of providing faster and more comfortable options for commuters on this busy route.
He also highlighted the demand for introducing Vande Bharat trains on additional routes, including Pune-Solapur, Pune-Nashik, and Pune-Kolhapur.
To further improve connectivity, Mohol recommended increasing the frequency of train services between Pune and Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
During the meeting, Mohol raised concerns about broadcasting and media infrastructure in Pune. He requested that the All India Radio (AIR) station's broadcasts currently managed from Mumbai be shifted to Pune.
He also advocated for launching a dedicated "Rainbow" radio channel for Pune, modernizing the station with updated content, and filling vacant positions in the programming department.
Furthermore, he sought advancements in the facilities at Pune's Doordarshan (DD) center to align with current requirements.
Responding positively, Railway Minister Vaishnaw instructed relevant officials to address the issues raised. He assured prompt action on matters related to railways and broadcasting.
Mohol also took the opportunity to congratulate Vaishnaw for his effective role as co-incharge during the Maharashtra Assembly elections.
