Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty was granted bail on Wednesday after a month after her arrest over drugs case linked with death of Sushant Singh Rajput case. However, her brother Showik, has been denied any reprieve by the Bombay High Court. Another court on Tuesday had extended their judicial custody till October 20.
Justice SV Kotwal, who had completed the hearing in her bail application last week and kept his ruling in reserve, declared the order. Rhea has spent 28 days in custody , though she was sent to extended judicial custody by a Special NDPS Court till October 20.
Also, Sushant’s employees Dipesh Sawant and Samuel Miranda have also been granted bail.
Rhea was arrested on September 8 by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on charges of establishing drugs for her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput. She was also accused of being "an active member of a drugs syndicate" and financing it used by Sushant Singh Rajput.
In her bail petition, the 27-year-old actress had said that she and her brother Showik were sole targets of multiple agencies who had found no evidence impeaching her in this case.
The CBI is investigating the circumstances of Sushant’s death and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is probing financial allegations raised by the actor's father. The NCB stepped into the Sushant Singh Rajput case when WhatsApp chats recovered from Rhea Chakraborty's mobile revealed alleged conversations connecting the procuring of drugs.
