Heavy rainfall likely in TN, AP and Kerala

Pune: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rainfall is likely to occur in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Kerala till November 16 due to the cyclone ‘Gaja’.
 
The IMD predicted that a gale wind speed reaching 70 to 80 km per hour (kmph) gusting to 85 kmph prevails over east-central and adjoining west-central and the southeast Bay of Bengal. It is very likely to increase gradually becoming 90 to100 kmph gusting to 110 kmph over southwest and adjoining west-central and the southeast Bay of Bengal from November 13.

The sea condition is high over east-central and adjoining west-central and the southeast Bay of Bengal. It will become ‘very high’ over southwest and adjoining west-central and the southeast Bay of Bengal on November 13 and November 14, predicted the Met office.

In an official statement, the IMD has warned that damage is expected over districts of Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Cuddalore, Villupuram districts of Tamil Nadu and Karaikal district of Puducherry. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the central part of south and the central Bay of Bengal till November 15. 

Maharashtra and Pune city
Weather in the State will remain dry till November 16, said officials from the IMD. In Pune, minimum temperature may remain around 16 degrees Celsius till November 18, predicted the IMD.
