Santosh Ajmera appointed as Director at Election Commission of India

Pune: Santosh Ajmera, senior officer of Indian Information Service, has been appointed as the Director at the Election Commission of India, New Delhi.

Ajmera is a 2008 batch officer and presently working as the Chief of Regional Outreach Bureau of Maharashtra and Goa. Regional Outreach Bureau is working to disseminate information about government schemes through various mediums to the last section of the society and creating awareness about the Govt’s flagship schemes.

Santosh Ajmera has come out with innovative ideas leaving aside the conventional public awareness programs. He has changed the way organisations used to function, making larger and bigger events, receiving attention from all.

He has always worked hard for creating awareness and towards extending benefits of various government schemes like Swachhata Abhiyan, Jalshakti Abhiyan, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Digital India, International Yoga Day, Corona Awareness, Corona Vaccination etc to the last section of the society. This has helped in bringing about a massive transformation in social behaviour. These initiatives got significant response in rural as well as in urban areas.

Earlier, Ajmera was instrumental in the establishment of ‘ New Media Wing’ in New Delhi around 2013. A unique program like ‘Talkathon’ was introduced under this initiative and it gained a lot of success. Later he was appointed as the Officer on Special Duty for the prestigious National Film Heritage Mission, project at Pune.

He played a pivotal role in conserving, preserving and creating Cinematic heritage for the Country. He was holding the responsibility of Special Officer of NFAI and the Chief of Regional Outreach Bureau of Maharashtra and Goa simultaneously.

Taking into account his potential while working in these responsibilities, Mr Ajmera has been appointed in the Election Commission of India, New Delhi. He is expected to play an important role in the forthcoming state elections and Central election.

Hailing from Marathwada region in Maharashtra, Santosh Ajmera is a badminton player and also an author. His seven books have been published so far with recent being ‘Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude’ published by MCGraw Hill Publications, India. He has received a scholarship from AYUSH Ministry, Government of India for his ongoing research about Mahatma Gandhi’s communication.
