Satya Paul, popularly known as the designer who reinvented the saree for contemporary women passed away at 79 in Coimbatore.
Confirming the news his son, Puneet Nanda, wrote on Facebook, “He couldn’t have had a sweeter life or passage, at the feet of the Master. We are sad a bit, mostly rejoicing him, his life and now his passing with such a blessing”. In his post, Nanda revealed that the legendary designer suffered a stroke on December 2 and had been ailing since then.
As soon as the news broke out, netizens paid tributes and expressed grief after the 79-year-old breathed his last on Thursday.
Founded in April, 1985 the Satya Paul brand was known for indigenous prints. The brand around India is known for ingenuity in its design sensibility and a vivid colour shades.
