Pune: In a move to facilitate taxpayers before the March 31 financial year-end deadline, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will keep its citizen service centers open on March 29 (Saturday) and March 30 (Sunday), despite the weekend holidays.

With March 31 falling on Eid, a public holiday, PMC aims to ensure that citizens do not face any inconvenience in making last-minute property tax payments. Additionally, taxpayers will have access to online payment options for a seamless experience.

Assistant Commissioner Pratibha Patil confirmed that over 500 long-pending property tax cases from the past four years have been resolved, allowing smoother tax collection. The department is prioritizing cases where immediate payments can be secured from property owners and businesses.

As March 31 is the final deadline for property tax payments, a significant number of taxpayers traditionally prefer to pay at the last moment. This year, the coincidence of a weekend followed by a public holiday could have caused disruptions. To address this, PMC has ensured that citizen service centers will remain operational on March 29 and 30.

Citizens can also make payments through a range of online payment options, including Net Banking, UPI, Google Pay, PhonePe, Bharat QR Code, and credit/debit cards. PMC has urged property owners to clear their dues by March 31 to avoid a 2% penalty on outstanding amounts.

"We are committed to meeting the revenue targets set in the budget. To achieve this, pending cases are being resolved promptly, and tax collection efforts have been intensified. Our priority is to ensure that citizens do not face any difficulties while making payments, even on holidays. Along with in-person services at customer centers, multiple online payment options are available," said Pratibha Patil, Assistant Commissioner, Tax Assessment and Collection Department, PMC.

Extended Customer Service Center Timings:

Saturday and Sunday (March 29 & 30): 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Monday (March 31): 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Online Payment Options Available:

Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, Bharat QR Code, Google Pay, PhonePe, Post Debit Card, Post Credit Card, UPI, EBPP, Mobile Wallets.
