Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh has given the green light to modify the reservation of a one-hectare plot in Survey No. 155, previously earmarked for the PCMT bus terminal under the city’s development plan.
The land has already been developed with a statue of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and a park, while the remaining vacant area is deemed unsuitable for Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) projects.
In response to demands from various organizations, the administration has decided to incorporate this land under the ‘Bhimshrushti’ reservation category.
Before the decision, PCMC had engaged in repeated correspondence with PMPML to secure a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the change. With PMPML now issuing the NOC, the municipal administration has formally approved the amendment through an administrative resolution. Moving forward, the process will adhere to government regulations, ensuring legal compliance.
To facilitate public participation, PCMC has allotted a one-month period for residents to submit objections or suggestions regarding the proposed change. Those who file objections within the specified timeframe will be granted a personal hearing before the municipal body.
Once reviewed, a final report will be submitted for PCMC’s approval before being forwarded to the state government for final authorization. An official notification will be issued following the government's decision.
PCMC has urged citizens to submit written objections or suggestions within the next month to ensure their concerns are considered in the decision-making process.
