Pune: In a significant step to clear unauthorized constructions, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) demolished 40 structures, including 5 RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) buildings and 35 brick constructions, to make way for road development. The demolition focused on the stretch from Visava Chowk to Dehu-Alandi Road and extended to the Chikhali and Kudalwadi areas.

The demolition drive was carried out as per the directives issued during a meeting chaired by PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, with Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale-Patil, City Engineer Makarand Nikam, and Deputy Commissioner Manoj Lonkar. The 30-meter-wide road from Visava Chowk to Dehu-Alandi Road, part of the approved development plan, was the primary focus of the operation.
