Pisoli: Four Booked for Assaulting Dog Owner in Sarthak Belva Society

During the attack, Tamboli's relative, Waleen Khan, reportedly threatened to kill Wasam, saying, "Bring the rod, let’s finish him now."

Pune: A dispute over a dog growling at a society member escalated into violence, resulting in the assault of the dog's owner. The incident occurred on December 14, around 12:15 a.m., at Sarthak Belva Society, Pisoli.

The complainant, Krunal Vitthal Wasam (34), was walking his dog, Sia, and waiting in the building’s elevator lobby to return home. At the same time, society resident Ashpak Tamboli entered the lobby. Upon seeing Tamboli, the dog began growling. Tamboli reportedly took offense and verbally abused Wasam.

As per the police report, when Wasam tried to pacify Tamboli, the latter slapped him. Tamboli then grabbed a child's bicycle from the parking area and struck Wasam, causing injuries to his right hand when he tried to defend himself.

The situation worsened when Tamboli's family members joined the altercation. They allegedly hurled abuses, pushed Wasam off a bench in the lobby, and physically assaulted him with punches and kicks. During the attack, Tamboli's relative, Waleen Khan, reportedly threatened to kill Wasam, saying, "Bring the rod, let’s finish him now."

Following the complaint filed by Wasam, the Kondhwa Police have registered a case against Tamboli, Khan, and two others. Charges include assault, issuing threats, and using abusive language. Police constable Lonkar is currently investigating the matter.

Earlier on October 20, in Parvati, a person shot at a dog that ran towards him. Fortunately, the bullet missed, and the dog survived unharmed. In a separate incident on Tuesday (October 22), a young man in Pirangut hanged his pet dog, leading to its death.
