Pune: A routine family dinner turned into a shocking ordeal for a household in Indrayani Nagar, Bhosari, when they discovered a broken piece of a knife in their pizza. The incident has sparked serious concerns about food safety and hygiene.
Arun Kapse, a resident of Bhosari, had ordered pizza online for his family. The delivery arrived on time, and the family began enjoying their meal together. However, their joy was short-lived when Arun felt something sharp stuck in his teeth. Upon closer inspection, he found a broken piece of a knife embedded in the pizza.
Realizing the potential danger, Arun immediately contacted the pizza company’s manager to report the issue. The manager apologized and refunded ₹599, the cost of the pizza.
Despite the refund, Arun decided to take further action. Reports suggest that he has filed a complaint with the Pune Food and Drug Administration (FDA), accusing the pizza company of negligence and compromising consumer health.
Arun highlighted the gravity of the situation, stating that if the knife fragment had been ingested, it could have led to a severe medical emergency. He also emphasized the responsibility of food companies to ensure the safety and hygiene of their products.
This alarming incident is not an isolated case. There have been previous reports of hazardous objects, such as severed fingers and lizards, found in food items, raising questions about the adequacy of quality control in the food industry.
