The civic administration said the action targeted hawkers and vendors who were breaking license conditions by subletting spaces, running unapproved businesses, or using gas cylinders in their operations. Many were found operating outside the designated zones, creating safety hazards and blocking sidewalks, footpaths, and open areas.

Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Bhalgat led the joint operation with the Encroachment Department, supported by local police and the Maharashtra Security Force. Teams coordinated across all five zones to ensure swift and effective removal of the illegal setups.
