Among the wards, Narhe–Vadgaon Budruk (Ward 34) saw the sharpest backlash, registering over 2,000 objections, the highest for any single ward. Other wards with significant opposition included Viman Nagar–Lohegaon (Ward 3) with 819 objections and Manjari Budruk–Sadesatranali (Ward 15) with 558.

At the regional level, the Dhanakwadi–Sahakarnagar office reported the highest count with nearly 1,900 objections, followed by Nagar Road–Vadgaonsheri with over 1,200. In contrast, Kothrud–Bavdhan and Warje–Karvenagar offices saw only nine submissions each.

Political workers and citizens have raised concerns that the new draft ignores natural and administrative boundaries such as rivers, nalas, flyovers, and major roads.

They allege that several localities were arbitrarily split or attached to other wards. Complaints have emerged from areas like Pune Station–Jayjawan Nagar, Yerwada–Gandhinagar, Kamala Nehru Hospital–Rasta Peth, Ambegaon–Katraj, Narhe–Vadgaon Budruk, and Manjari Budruk, where residents argue the ward demarcations are impractical and disruptive.

At the same time, three wards reported zero objections—Shaniwar Peth–Mahatma Phule Mandai (Ward 25), Deccan Gymkhana–Happy Colony (Ward 29), and Karvenagar–Hingne Home Colony (Ward 30). This indicates general satisfaction among citizens in these areas. In neighboring Mayur Colony–Kothrud (Ward 31), only a single objection was filed.

The draft ward structure was announced on August 22, and objections were accepted until September 4. Initially, the response was slow with only 585 submissions in the first 10 days, but the numbers surged in the final phase.

The PMC has clarified that hearings on these objections will be conducted by the authorized officer appointed by the state government between September 5 and 12. A detailed schedule for the hearings is expected shortly.
