
Pune: A scheduled power outage will affect several key areas in Pune on Thursday, February 6, from 8 AM to 4 PM, due to essential work on Pune Metro and ultra-high voltage power lines along the Shivajinagar-Hinjewadi corridor.
According to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL / MahaVitaran), electricity supply from three major substations—Ganeshkhind, Chinchwad, and GKRS (Kothrud)—will be shut down to facilitate the installation of 132 kV underground power cables by MahaTransco. This is part of the Shivajinagar-Hinjewadi Metro development project.
Areas Affected by the Power Outage:
The power cut will impact a wide range of neighborhoods, including Shivajinagar, Deccan, Model Colony, Aundh, Narayan Peth, Senapati Bapat Road, FC Road, and parts of Kothrud.
Some of the specific localities that will face electricity disruption include:
Ganeshkhind, Model Colony, Deep Bangla area, Wadarwadi, Gokhalenagar, Janata Vasahat, Senapati Bapat Road, Narayan Peth, Jangli Maharaj Road, Laxmi Road, Police Lines, Ghole Road, FC Road, Aundh Gaon, Parihar Chowk, Bremen Chowk, Sanghvi Road, Thorat Chowk, Sakhar Sankul Road, Chafekar Nagar, Apte Road, Shirole Road, Sambhaji Garden, Sutar Dara, Shivtirth Nagar, and surrounding areas.
MahaVitaran has informed all affected consumers via registered mobile notifications and urged residents and businesses to make necessary arrangements.
Authorities have appealed for public cooperation, stating that the scheduled work is crucial for metro infrastructure and power supply reliability in the long run. Citizens are advised to plan their activities accordingly, especially those dependent on electricity for commercial and daily operations.
