Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has set a target to construct 4,173 housing units in the second phase of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), aimed at providing affordable housing to economically weaker sections (EWS). So far, 2,777 applications have been received under the scheme.
The first phase of PMAY saw the construction of 2,658 housing units in Pune. Following this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Phase 2, prompting PMC to launch new projects at various locations.
Project Details:
The proposed housing units will be built in five key locations:
Hadapsar – 2,000 units
Kondhwa – 736 units
Dhanori – 676 units
Wadgaon Khurd – 465 units
Balewadi – 296 units
PMC will invest ₹300 crore in the project, ensuring affordable housing for eligible families.
Eligibility & Financial Support:
Family income limit: Not exceeding ₹6 lakh per annum.
Government assistance: ₹1.5 lakh from the Central Government and ₹2 lakh from the State Government.
Home sizes: Ranging between 30 sq. meters and 45 sq. meters.
Mandatory registration on the Unified Web Portal for applicants.
PMC Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale confirmed that the application process is ongoing, and more citizens are expected to apply in the coming weeks.
