Pune, 28 August 2025: Pune’s Aeromall, located near the airport, will soon introduce an additional exit lane for four-wheelers to ease traffic congestion. The change is aimed at reducing the long waiting time faced by cabs and private cars while picking up or dropping off passengers.
At present, Aeromall has three exit lanes for four-wheelers and two for two-wheelers. With the new arrangement, four-wheelers will get four lanes, while two-wheelers will have only one. The decision comes after repeated complaints of congestion, particularly at night, when the number of vehicles is at its peak.
On average, nearly 6,000 four-wheelers, including a large number of cabs, pass through the Aeromall every day. Passengers often faced delays of up to an hour due to traffic snarls. The new system, expected to be operational within a week, is likely to cut down this waiting time significantly and make travel smoother.
Aeromall’s vice-president Yuvrajsing Rajput said the extra four-wheeler lane is being introduced to improve convenience for passengers and reduce the recurring problem of traffic congestion.
