Pune Airport will implement its winter schedule from late October, adding 15 new flight slots, the highest increase in its history.
The additional slots will connect Pune to 5–7 new cities along with expanded services to existing destinations.
Airlines are already preparing proposals for these slots, with DGCA approval expected before the schedule starts.
Pune, 11 August 2025: Pune Airport is set for its busiest winter yet, with the new schedule coming into effect in the last week of October. For the first time in its history, the airport will receive 15 additional flight slots, taking the total available from the current 220 to about 235. This expansion is expected to significantly boost connectivity, attracting more passengers during the peak season.
Airlines operating from Pune are now preparing proposals to secure these new slots. These proposals are likely to be submitted to the airport authority by the end of August and will then be forwarded to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for approval. Once cleared, the airlines can finalise their winter flight schedules.
Currently, Pune offers air services to 34 cities across the country. The new allocation is expected to add 5 to 7 destinations while increasing frequency on existing routes. The extra slots will be spread between 6 a.m. and 10:29 p.m., giving airlines greater flexibility to operate more flights throughout the day.
According to Pune Airport Director Santosh Dhoke, the process for utilising the new slots is already underway, and implementation will begin as soon as the DGCA gives the green light. The upcoming season is expected to make Pune Airport a key hub for both business and leisure travel.
