Pune, 14 August 2025: Pune’s airport traffic division has set a new record by booking more than 1,000 traffic violations in a single day outside Pune Airport, Lohegaon. The enforcement drive, which began just after midnight on Tuesday and continued till late night, targeted motorists flouting rules in the busy airport zone.
According to traffic police inspector Ravindra Kadam, this was the highest number of actions taken in a single day at one location in Pune. He said the airport is a sensitive and high-traffic area where maintaining order is crucial, and the team worked non-stop to ensure both strict enforcement and smooth traffic flow.
The operation focused on a range of offences, including illegal parking on approach roads, stopping in no-parking zones, occupying pick-up and drop-off lanes for too long, blocking vehicle movement, and driving without valid documents. Every violation was recorded with photographic or video-graphic proof, and fines were issued through the e-challan system.
Police said the control room was kept informed, and officers ensured traffic moved smoothly throughout the day without creating congestion. By the end of the operation, 1,012 violations had been registered, marking a city record for single-day action at one spot. No disputes were reported during the crackdown.
