Pune: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has uncovered links between Valmik Karad, the prime accused in the Santosh Deshmukh murder and extortion case, and prominent BJP leader Datta Khade in Pune. The investigation reveals that Karad facilitated property purchases worth crores in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad under the names of his two wives.
Valmik Karad, who surrendered to the CID on December 31, 2024, is accused of several high-profile crimes. Before his surrender, Karad was allegedly staying with his second wife, Jyoti Mangal Jadhav, whose properties in Pune are now under scrutiny.
The CID has now questioned Datta Khade, a former corporator and BJP Pune City General Secretary, on suspicions that he mediated property deals for Karad. The properties in question include two office spaces near Fergusson College in Pune, registered under Jyoti Jadhav’s name. Investigators believe Khade played a pivotal role in facilitating these transactions.
