The new flyover is seen as a major relief for traffic congestion on Sinhgad Road.
Pune, 1st September 2025: Pune is preparing for the arrival of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on September 1, as part of his annual Ganeshotsav tour. He is expected to visit some of the city’s prominent Ganesh mandals along with celebrations hosted by BJP leaders and party workers. His visit has now become a tradition during the festive season, and party members have already begun making preparations.
Along with his festive schedule, Fadnavis is also likely to inaugurate the Sinhgad Road flyover, a project that has been in demand for a long time. Though the Pune Municipal Corporation has not yet issued formal confirmation, officials are coordinating to ensure the flyover is ready for public use.
In recent days, civic commissioner Nawal Kishore Ram, additional commissioners, department heads, and police authorities carried out a joint inspection of the site. The review was conducted to check the final preparations and ensure smooth functioning of the new flyover once it opens.
The bridge is expected to ease heavy traffic congestion along Sinhgad Road, which is one of Pune’s busiest and most crowded routes. Once operational, the flyover will provide much-needed relief to commuters who face daily traffic snarls on this stretch.
Earlier, political parties including MNS and the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) had staged protests demanding the immediate opening of the flyover. With the inauguration now scheduled, citizens are hopeful that the project will finally bring smoother movement and reduce pressure on Pune’s traffic network.
