The project was under construction near Harpale Vasti in Fursungi, located along the Hadapsar-Saswad Road. The site is in close proximity to high-tension electric towers of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL). Despite this, construction activity was ongoing without adequate safety protocols.

Initially, the incident was registered as an accidental death. However, following an on-site inspection, police found that the construction workers had not been provided with necessary safety equipment or precautions. This led authorities to file a criminal case against the developer, Sheshrao Mohite, for gross negligence resulting in loss of life.
