Pune, 18 August 2025: The city crime branch has seized 351 grams of mephedrone (MD) worth over ₹76 lakh during a raid in the Wagholi area. Two men from Rajasthan have been arrested in connection with the case.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Rameshwarlal Motiji Ahir (45) and Nakshatra Hemraj Ahir (25), both residents of Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. The operation took place on Friday night behind Gulmohar Park in Tambewasti, Wagholi.

According to officials, the anti-narcotics team of Crime Branch Unit 6 was patrolling when they received a tip-off about two men carrying drugs. A trap was laid, and the suspects were caught with the contraband.

The seized mephedrone is valued at ₹76,01,710 in the illegal market. Police are now investigating the source of the narcotics and the possible network involved. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Inspector Sudarshan Gaikwad and Wahid Pathan.
