The victim, who works at a private firm, was alone in her flat when the incident occurred. As per the complaint, the accused tricked his way into her home by claiming to deliver important papers and asked for a pen to get her signature. When the woman turned to get the pen, he barged in and locked the door from inside before sexually assaulting her.

Police suspect that the accused may have used a chemical spray to render the victim unconscious. She reportedly regained consciousness around 8:30 PM, about an hour after the assault.

During the investigation, CCTV footage from inside and outside the residential society helped the police identify the suspect. He was tracked and arrested based on this footage.
