Pune: Shirish Maharaj More, the 11th-generation descendant of Sant Tukaram Maharaj, died by suicide three days ago due to financial distress. His tragic passing has left his family devastated. In a suicide note, More had detailed the debts he owed and had even appealed to his friends to help his family repay them.
Now, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has stepped forward to support the grieving family. As part of his birthday initiative, he donated ₹32 lakh to the More family to help them recover from their financial troubles.
Shirish Maharaj More was a noted speaker and an active member of the Warkari sect. Despite his contributions to social causes, he had been struggling with financial difficulties.
On February 5, he ended his life at his residence, leaving behind a grieving family and a shocked community. His wedding was just a few days away, making his sudden demise even more tragic.
Recognizing the family’s hardship, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde sent financial assistance of ₹32 lakh. MLA Vijay Shivtare personally visited the More family and handed over the aid. This support is expected to ease the financial burden and help the family cope with their loss.
