Pune: A violent attack in Sus, Pune, has raised concerns about public safety, as a group of men assaulted four individuals with stones and sharp weapons after being confronted for drinking alcohol in the area. The brutal incident, which took place on January 29 around 10 PM, has left the victims seriously injured.

Following the attack, a case of attempted murder has been registered at Bavdhan Police Station based on a complaint filed by Aniket Dnyandev Patil (25), a resident of Bhote Vasti, Sus-Nande Road. The accused have been identified as Suraj Gaygawali, Shivtej Pawar, Tejas Naik, Sanjay Ghadge, Swaraaj Mirkute, and two others.

According to the police report, the incident began when Aniket Patil objected to the accused drinking alcohol in the area. In response, the accused became aggressive and threw stones at Aniket’s friend, Ranjit Amirchand Vishwakarma, and neighbor Rajesh Mistry, causing injuries.

The situation escalated when the accused attacked Aniket Patil and his friend Sagar Pandurang Tikudve with sharp weapons, inflicting serious injuries. After the attack, the group brandished their weapons in the air to spread fear before fleeing the scene on motorcycles.

Upon learning about the incident, senior police officials including Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vishal Gaikwad, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sunil Kurhade and Bavdhan Senior Inspector Anil Vibhute, rushed to the crime scene. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation, which is currently being handled by Police Sub-Inspector Devidas Phad.
