The much-anticipated inauguration of the Pune flyover has been delayed because a suitable auspicious muhurat (timing) for the opening ceremony has not yet been finalized. Although the construction work on the flyover is complete, local authorities and stakeholders are adhering to traditional customs that emphasize selecting an ideal muhurat to ensure prosperity and success.
According to astrological guidelines, certain dates and times are considered favorable for inaugurations and public events. Experts suggest that the right muhurat can bring positive energy and smooth functioning to infrastructure projects like flyovers. However, finding a perfect muhurat that aligns with all stakeholders’ schedules and auspicious timings has proven challenging.
The inauguration may be rescheduled to a later date in 2025 when an auspicious window is identified. This delay, while disappointing for commuters eager to use the new flyover, reflects the cultural importance placed on muhurat in Maharashtra and across India.
Officials have assured the public that the flyover is ready for use and that the delay is only for ceremonial purposes. Once the muhurat is fixed, a grand inauguration event will be organized to mark the opening of this vital infrastructure, which is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity in Pune.
