Pune: A 32-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband in Narhe’s Manajinagar area on Friday (January 17) evening over suspicions of infidelity. The accused, Kumar Kalgonda Patil (42), has been arrested by the Sinhagad Road Police for allegedly strangling his wife, Reshma Bhiku Khude, with a scarf.
According to police reports, Reshma Khude was originally from Waduj in Satara district. She had two children from her first marriage before marrying Kumar Patil. The couple had shifted to Kute Mala in Narhe just a month ago. Kumar worked at a lodge in Saswad and would visit home every couple of days.
On Friday, Kumar returned home from work, and a heated argument ensued between the couple over his suspicions regarding Reshma’s character. During the altercation, Kumar allegedly strangled Reshma using a scarf, causing her instant death.
The incident came to light when the landlord, hearing loud noises, entered the house and found Reshma unresponsive. The landlord immediately informed the police control room. Officers from the Sinhagad Road Police Station, led by PSI Sagar Pawar, arrived at the scene and detained Kumar Patil.
The police have registered a case and are investigating further details surrounding the tragic incident.
