Pune: In response to popular demand, Pune Metro has decided to extend its service hours by one hour, starting from Republic Day, January 26.
Until now, the Pune Metro operated between 6 AM and 10 PM. From January 26 onwards, the service will be available until 11 PM. During peak hours (8 AM to 11 AM and 4 PM to 8 PM), trains will run every 7 minutes.
During non-peak hours (6 AM to 8 AM, 11 AM to 4 PM, and 8 PM to 10 PM), the frequency will remain every 10 minutes. For the extended hour (10 PM to 11 PM), trains will operate at a frequency of every 15 minutes.
In addition, Pune Metro is promoting its One Pune Transit Card on Republic Day with a special offer. The card will be available at just ₹20 for the first 5,000 passengers. Travelers can purchase the card from any metro station without needing to provide any documents.
Speaking about the initiatives, Shravan Hardikar, Managing Director of MahaMetro, said, "Given the increasing use of Pune Metro and persistent demand from passengers, we have extended our operating hours. This will especially benefit citizens returning home late from work, providing them with a safe and time-saving travel option.
The ₹20 Pune Transit Card, introduced on Republic Day, is part of our efforts to encourage digital ticketing solutions and enhance commuter convenience."
