
Pune: Yerawada Police have registered a case against a 14-year-old boy accused of committing obscene acts with an 8-year-old girl attending private tuition.
The boy, who is the cousin of the girl’s tutor, allegedly attempted inappropriate behavior on two occasions.
According to the complaint filed by the victim’s mother, her daughter had been attending private tuition sessions conducted by a woman in Yerawada.
The accused, who lived at the tutor’s residence, reportedly took advantage of situations when the tutor was not at home.
The first incident occurred a week ago when the boy took the girl to the terrace and allegedly attempted obscene acts.
A similar incident was reported two days ago when the child again visited for tuition, and the tutor was absent. Following the repeated harassment, the girl confided in her mother, prompting her to approach the police.
Yerawada Police have registered a case against the boy under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO). Assistant Police Inspector Priyanka Devkar is leading the investigation.
The police are examining all evidence and have assured strict action in the case. Police have urged residents to report any suspicious or inappropriate behavior to help protect vulnerable children.
