Pune, 14 October 2025: The Faraskhana police managed to find two schoolgirls who had been missing, following a thorough four-day search that involved reviewing more than 500 CCTV recordings throughout Pune.

The police reported that the girls, who were in Class 7 at a school in Kasba Peth, have recently disappeared. As both were orphans, there were no family members or acquaintances to offer details, making the search more difficult. A case was filed on October 7.

The operation was headed by Senior Police Inspector Uttam Namwade, with the assistance of Assistant Inspector Vaibhav Gaikwad and Police Sub-Inspector Arvind Shinde. Two teams were dispatched to explore various locations. One of the girls was discovered alone at night in the Wakdewadi-Shivajinagar region, but there was no prompt information regarding the whereabouts of the second girl.

The police continued their search without pause, examining CCTV footage from Shivajinagar, Sangamwadi, Vishrantwadi, Moshi, Alandi, and Bhosari. Finally, thanks to the efforts of officers Praveen Pasalkar and Prashant Palande, the second girl was found sitting on the roadside in Ganeshnagar, Tupevasti, Moshi.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Police Commissioner Rajesh Bansode, Deputy Commissioners Krishikesh Rawale and Vivek Masal, and Assistant Commissioner Sainath Thombre.

The team, including Senior Inspector Uttam Namwade, PSI Santosh Gore, and officers Mahesh Rathod, Chetan Holkar, Vishal Shinde, Tanaji Nangre, Nitin Telange, Nitin Jadhav, Gajanan Sonune, Sumit Khutte, Mahesh Pawar, Shashikant Nanaware, and Manisha Pukale, coordinated the successful recovery.
