Pune: The 14th edition of the Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad (Indian Student Parliament) is set to take place from February 8 to 10, 2025, at MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), Pune. Organized by MIT-WPU and MIT School of Government, the three-day event will witness participation from political leaders, policymakers, social activists, and industry experts.
The event will be inaugurated on February 8 at 10:30 AM, with Union Minister for Labour, Employment, Youth Affairs & Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and BOAT CMO Co-founder Aman Gupta attending as chief guests.
During the event, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana will be honored with the ‘Ideal Assembly Speaker’ Award. The closing ceremony on February 10 at 11:45 AM will feature Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Minister Dattatray Bharne, Maharashtra Legislative Council Chairman Prof. Ram Shinde, and Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar.
The student parliament will host four thematic sessions:
Indian Politics: Left, Right, or Beyond?
‘Revdi’ Culture: Economic Burden or Essential Support?
Indian Culture vs. Western Influence: A Youth Dilemma
AI & Social Media: Power or Peril?
Apart from the main sessions, ‘Democracy Theatre’ and ‘Youth-to-Youth Connect’ will be key highlights.
Over 250 MLAs will attend a Leadership Development Program for Legislators on February 8 and 9, engaging in discussions with student delegates.
Prominent speakers include political leaders, MPs, ministers, and social activists, alongside industry experts from media, cinema, and business. The event is supported by central and state ministries, UNESCO, and leading academic institutions.
