PUNE, 13 August 2025: Daily commuters in Pune are facing worsening traffic congestion, especially along the Shivne–Shinde Pool Road and in the Nanded City area during the morning rush. Between 8 am and 10 am, vehicles pile up in long queues, stretching travel times and testing patience.

One of the key reasons for the chaos is the absence of traffic police during peak hours. Without officers to manage the flow, drivers are left to navigate on their own, leading to confusion, slow movement, and mounting frustration.

The problem is further compounded by the narrow connecting roads from Nanded City to Shivne, which are ill-equipped to handle the growing volume of vehicles. Potholes, poor infrastructure, and bottlenecks make matters worse, forcing vehicles to crawl forward in single-file stretches.

Residents say repeated complaints to the authorities have gone unanswered. “Even if I leave home early, I still get delayed because of the jam,” said one commuter, reflecting the frustration of thousands who waste hours and fuel daily on the same stretch.
