Pune: An attendant at a well-known school in Pashan area has been arrested for secretly recording female students in a changing room using his mobile phone camera. The Chatuhshrungi police have registered a case against the accused under the POCSO Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Section 77.
The incident occurred on January 6 during a sports period. After the session, female students went to the school’s kitchen room to change. The accused, identified as Sarode, was present in the room. Despite being asked to leave, Sarode allegedly placed his mobile phone with the camera recording on a switchboard and left.
The students discovered the recording, immediately deleted the video, and informed their parents about the incident. Concerned parents approached the school principal, who initiated an inquiry. Initially, the accused denied the allegations but later confessed to his actions during further questioning by the school authorities.
The school management reported the matter to the Chatuhshrungi police, who arrested Sarode and registered a case against him. The school has assured that appropriate measures will be taken to ensure the safety and security of students in the future.
