Rally of Fear After Bail

On Tuesday, January 7, Kasabe and his associates organized a motorcycle rally through the Laxminagar area of Yerwada after being released on bail. They circulated a video on social media declaring, "I am the king of Yerawada," to spread fear among the residents.

The video drew the attention of the authorities, prompting Crime Branch DCP Nikhil Pingale, Zone 4 DCP Himat Jadhav, Senior Inspector Ravindra Shelke, and Inspector Ajay Waghmare to take swift action.

Police Hunt and Public Parade

The police launched a search operation to apprehend Kasabe and his gang. While Kasabe remains untraceable, the police arrested several of his accomplices on Thursday (January 9) night.

In an unusual move, the police set up a temporary structure in Laxminagar Chowk, complete with a curtain for privacy, and labeled it as a "Temporary Police Assistance Center." The associates were punished behind the curtain in full public view, after which they were paraded through the area. This strong and visible action was widely appreciated by the local community.

Legal Action Taken

A formal case has been filed against Kasabe and his associates at the Yerwada Police Station based on a complaint by constable Lahu Gadmawad. The investigation is being led by Assistant Inspector Solunke.

This direct approach by the police serves as a strong warning to those attempting to disrupt peace in the community, said Senior Inspector Ravindra Shelke.
