Pune Police Recover Stolen Tempo and Goods Worth ₹18.69 Lakh; Accused Nabbed in Gujarat

Pune: Vishrantwadi Police have successfully recovered a stolen tempo loaded with electrical goods worth ₹18.69 lakh and arrested the accused Prashant Digambar Patil from Bharuch, Gujarat. The stolen goods, which included a Mahindra Pickup worth ₹2.5 lakh and electrical items worth ₹16.19 lakh, were seized from the suspect.

The case was filed by Vijay Vitthoba Bhikule (54, resident of Adarsh Colony, Tingrenagar), a driver at Hi-Tech Corporation. On January 29, Bhikule parked his tempo near his residence after loading it with goods for delivery. The next morning, on January 30, he discovered the vehicle missing. After searching for two days without success, he filed a complaint at Vishrantwadi Police Station on February 1.

While investigating the case, Police Constables Bhosale, Sanjay Badre, and Akshay Chapat received information that Prashant Digambar Patil (resident of Aurangabad) was behind the theft and had transported the stolen tempo to Bharuch, Gujarat, with plans to sell the goods. Acting on this intelligence, Police Sub-Inspector Nitin Rathod and his team traveled to Bharuch, where they located and arrested the accused with the stolen vehicle and merchandise, in coordination with the local police.

The operation was executed under the leadership of Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police Himmat Jadhav, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Vitthal Dabade. The investigation team included Senior Police Inspector Kanchan Jadhav, Crime Inspector Mangesh Hande, Sub-Inspector Nitin Rathod, and constables Baban Vanve, Yashwant Kirve, Krishna Machare, Amjad Sheikh, Vaman Sawant, Sanjay Badre, Sampat Bhosale, Sandeep Devkate, Akshay Chapat, and Kishor Bhusare.
