Pune: Police Seize Firearms from Criminal Associated with Gangster Ravi Pujari

Pune: The Crime Branch Unit II of Pune Police has arrested a criminal linked to notorious gangster Ravi Pujari and seized two pistols along with six live cartridges from him.

The accused, identified as Nilesh Dnyaneshwar Bharam (35), a resident of Sai Siddhi Chowk in Ambegaon, was previously arrested in 2016 by Bharati Vidyapeeth Police for working for Ravi Pujari. He was charged under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) by Pune Police.

Bharam is a habitual offender with 16 criminal cases registered against him, including attempted murder, firing, robbery, extortion, and dacoity in various areas of Pune and Panvel.

On receiving a tip-off about an individual carrying firearms near Daripul in Ambegaon, police constables Ujwal Mokashi, Shankar Kumbhar, and Sanjay Jadhav conducted a raid. They apprehended the suspect, who revealed his identity as Nilesh Bharam. Upon searching him, the police recovered two pistols and six live cartridges worth ₹86,000. A case has been registered against Bharam at Ambegaon Police Station.

Bharam’s Criminal History:

Bharam has a long history of criminal activities with cases registered in police stations across Bharati Vidyapeeth, Sahakarnagar, Swargate, Kondhwa, Khadak, Bibwewadi, Haveli, and Panvel. His charges include attempted murder, firing, robbery, extortion, and attempts at dacoity.

This operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Police Commissioner Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingale, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Ganesh Ingle. The team comprised Police Inspector Pratap Mankar, Assistant Police Inspector Ashish Kavathekar, Amol Rasal, and constables Ujwal Mokashi, Shankar Kumbhar, Sanjay Jadhav, Shankar Nevase, Nikhil Jadhav, Vijay Pawar, Nagnath Rakh, Vinod Chavan, Rahul Shinde, Amol Sarde, Sanjay Abnave, Pramod Kokne, and Pushendra Chavan.
