Pune: Unseasonal rain showers surprised citizens in Pune and nearby districts on Saturday (December 28) evening. Beginning around 5 PM, light to moderate rainfall was observed in various areas, leading to waterlogging in some parts of the city. Shivajinagar recorded 2 mm of rain, and the minimum temperature stood at 17.3°C.
Pune, which was experiencing cold weather just a week ago, has seen a significant rise in temperatures, with maximum and minimum temperatures increasing by 8 to 10 degrees Celsius. The winter chill has dissipated, and weather patterns over the past two days have alternated between sunshine and cloudy skies.
Saturday started with partly sunny and cloudy weather, but by late afternoon, dark clouds gathered over several parts of the city. Rain showers followed in areas like Shivajinagar, Prabhat Road, Swargate, Katraj, Kothrud, NDA, Pashan, Aundh, Vishrantwadi, and Kharadi.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast mainly clear skies on Sunday (December 29), with the possibility of cloudy weather in the afternoon. Foggy conditions are expected in the morning, and a drop in maximum and minimum temperatures is likely after Tuesday (December 31).
