Pune: Superintendent of Police Rajesh Bansode, currently heading the Wireless Communications Division in Pune, has been awarded the President’s Police Medal for his distinguished service.

Excellence in Wireless Communications and Technology

As the Superintendent of Police in the Wireless Communications Division, Bansode has overseen the deployment and maintenance of wireless communication systems across Maharashtra.

Serving as the state nodal officer, he played a critical role in ensuring that wireless systems operated efficiently even in remote and challenging areas. His supervision of manpower and technological resources significantly enhanced the effectiveness of police communications statewide.

Anti-Corruption Leadership in Pune

Between 2019 and 2022, Bansode served as the Superintendent of Police in Pune’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). Under his leadership, the Pune division achieved the distinction of being the top-performing ACB division in Maharashtra for three consecutive years. His efforts were praised by the Director General of Police for the Anti-Corruption Bureau, reflecting his commitment to combating corruption effectively.

Notable Achievements in Crime Investigation

During his tenure as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Pune city, Bansode successfully solved several high-profile cases. These included crimes such as gold chain thefts, robberies, murders, and the illegal possession of weapons. One of his most notable achievements was solving a theft case involving ₹4.76 crore at Khadak Police Station, where the entire stolen amount was recovered.

Maintaining Law and Order During Challenging Times

Bansode’s contribution during the Khairlanji incident, which caused widespread unrest in Maharashtra, was highly commendable. His efforts in maintaining law and order in Tumsar, Bhiwandi, and Padgha earned him recognition for his strategic planning and execution. His ability to handle sensitive situations with precision and dedication played a pivotal role in his selection for the prestigious award.
