The Jedhe Chowk underpass at Swargate will be closed for repair from September 19 to 22.
Vehicles from Hadapsar towards Shivajinagar and Sinhagad Road will be diverted through Jedhe Chowk.
PMC urges citizens to cooperate with traffic diversions and avoid encroachments to reduce congestion.
Pune, 18 September 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced that the Jedhe Chowk underpass at Swargate will be closed for three days to allow essential repair work. The closure will start at 11 pm on Friday, September 19, and continue until 7 am on Monday, September 22.
The underpass, built to ease traffic from Vega Centre towards Sarasbaug, is undergoing maintenance. During this time, vehicles coming from Hadapsar towards Shivajinagar and Sinhagad Road will be diverted and will have to pass directly through Jedhe Chowk instead of using the underpass.
Officials have warned that the closure could lead to heavy congestion in Swargate, one of Pune’s busiest junctions. To reduce traffic problems, citizens are urged to follow the diversions and avoid blocking roads and pedestrian walkways.
The PMC has also instructed authorities to take action against vehicles operating illegally to prevent further disruption. Citizens have been requested to cooperate with traffic management and plan their travel accordingly to avoid delays.
