
Nearly 60 two-wheelers, including petrol and electric bikes, were gutted in a fire at a showroom-cum-service centre in Pune.
One person trapped due to smoke inhalation was rescued safely by fire officials.
The fire was brought under control in 30 minutes, though the cause remains unknown.
Pune, 26 August 2025: Nearly 60 two-wheelers were destroyed after a massive fire broke out at a motorbike showroom and service centre on Bund Garden Road in Tarabaug on Monday evening.
The blaze erupted around 8.30 pm on the ground floor of a three-storey building that houses a TVS showroom. Thick smoke quickly spread through the premises, leaving one person trapped inside. He was later rescued by fire brigade personnel after suffering smoke inhalation.
Fire tenders and a water tanker were rushed to the site, and the fire was brought under control within 30 minutes. Cooling operations continued for some time to prevent the blaze from reigniting.
Officials confirmed that around 60 petrol and electric two-wheelers, including both new vehicles and those brought in for repairs, were gutted in the incident. In addition to the vehicles, wiring, machinery, spare parts, batteries, computers, furniture and documents were also destroyed.
The exact cause of the fire is still being investigated.
