Earlier, the opening of this and another flyover on Sinhagad Road was delayed despite construction being nearly complete. The inauguration was initially planned for August 15 but was postponed, first citing pending work and later because senior leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, could not confirm their availability.

In the meantime, finishing touches such as road surfacing, painting, streetlights, and landscaping have been completed. Service roads and pedestrian pathways are still under progress, but officials say these works will continue alongside regular traffic movement.

PMRDA Commissioner Yogesh Mhase, senior PMC officials, traffic police, and project contractors carried out a final inspection of the Ganeshkhind Road flyover yesterday. Officials said the civic administration is fully prepared, and the stretch will be thrown open for public use from Tuesday itself, regardless of a formal ceremony.
